In an effort to streamline Windows 11, Microsoft has revealed its plans to allow users to remove more inbox apps, including Microsoft Photos. The company has also announced that it will be discontinuing the ‘Tips’ app in a future release, expected to roll out next year. The ‘Tips’ app was designed to showcase new features and provide helpful tips for Windows users but will no longer be available. In addition to the ‘Tips’ app, Microsoft is planning to remove more stock apps, including WordPad and Cortana. While these apps are still functional, they are now considered optional and can be uninstalled with just a few clicks. These changes reflect Microsoft’s focus on making Windows 11 more efficient and customizable for users. The recent Build 25992 in the Canary channel introduces improvements to the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol, including enhanced firewall protection and support for connecting to SMB servers over various ports. File Explorer performance has also been enhanced, and new features such as 7-zip and TAR archive creation have been added. Snap layouts now include suggestions, further optimizing the user experience on Windows 11.
