YouTube is making some updates to their app for Windows 10. One of the new features is the addition of two buttons that let you skip forward or backwards in a video by 10 seconds. This makes it easier to find your favorite parts of a video or rewatch something you liked. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard or double-tap on the sides of the video if you’re using a touch device to skip ahead or go back by 5 seconds. Another update is that the search box now supports dark mode, which is a cool feature for people who like to use dark backgrounds on their devices. If you have a premium subscription to YouTube, you’ll also get a higher-quality viewing experience with their new 1080p premium tier. This means that videos in 1080p will have a better picture and sound. The premium tier used to be only available for iOS users and in certain regions, but now it works for everyone on Windows 10 and 11. If you don’t have the premium subscription, you’ll still see the option for 1080p videos, but you’ll be asked to subscribe if you click on it. These updates are being rolled out slowly to different regions, so not everyone might have them yet, but they should be available to more people soon.
