Microsoft has released a new preview version of the Fall Update for Windows 11, labeled as KB5031455. This update, also known as the 2023-10 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 version 22H2, includes several noteworthy features such as Copilot, Windows Backup, a modernized File Explorer, and more.

Unlike the previous preview update (KB5030310), it is believed that installing this build will indeed provide users with all the promised features of the Fall Update. However, this theory can only be tested in virtual machines, as my current PCs in Mexico are already on version 23H2.

Interestingly, the release notes for the September preview update did not mention these features, whereas they are included in the release notes for this latest update. This suggests that the features are indeed present in KB5031455.

In addition to these major features, the preview update also introduces dynamic lighting customization options for hardware manufacturers and includes various fixes. Furthermore, it improves the quality of the servicing stack, which is responsible for installing Windows updates.

If you are already on Windows 11 version 23H2, there is a non-preview version of the update (KB5031455) available for you as well. This update brings a range of interesting additions and improvements to your system.

Please note that the above information is subject to change, and updates may vary depending on your specific system configuration. Stay tuned for further updates and enjoy the enhanced features and performance that Windows 11 has to offer!
