Latest Windows 11 Dev Channel Update Enhances Teams and Phone Integration

Microsoft has just released Windows 11 build 23619 to PCs in the Dev channel of the Windows Insider Program. This update brings in some exciting new features along with a plethora of bug fixes.

One of the new features included in this update is the ability for users with an Entra ID account (formerly Azure Active Directory) running Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise to see their next Teams meeting in the Recommended section in Start 5 minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin. Users can simply click on this item to join the meeting.

Another compelling new feature, accessible by those in the Canary channel, is the replacement of the Remote capture feature that was previously available to Phone Link users with Android phones. This feature allowed them to access and edit their most recent photos directly from Snipping Tool. The new version of this functionality includes a new Mobile devices interface in Settings, a Device Experience Host update from the Microsoft Store, and new banner notifications in Windows 11 that are triggered whenever a photo or screenshot is taken on the phone. To enable this new cross-device experience, users can open Settings, navigate to Bluetooth & devices, select Mobile devices, and then choose “Manage devices.”

Exciting developments are underway.
