Windows 11 23H2 is not appearing on some systems due to a phased rollout, as per sources familiar with Microsoft’s development. Microsoft plans to expand the rollout through Windows Update in the following weeks, possibly after initiating the push for Windows 11 2023 Update via the Media Creation Tool.

Windows 11 23H2 is being released gradually, with newer devices like Surface products being prioritized. If you haven’t installed the Windows 11 Moment 4 update, 23H2 will bring significant changes.

For those who do not wish to wait for the automatic update, manual installation is possible through the Installation Assistant or by downloading the Windows 11 ISO file.

Windows 11 2023 Update introduces various new features, such as Microsoft Copilot for task assistance, a revamped Settings home page with interactive cards, and Dynamic Lighting control for compatible devices, among others.

Windows 11 2023 Update, also known as Windows 11 23H2 Update, began its optional rollout on October 31. Since this version is based on Windows 11 22H2, last year’s major upgrade, it is available as a free download for everyone. However, it is not yet available for all compatible hardware.

Although Windows 11 23H2 is a minor release and an enablement package, it is still a significant update if you do not have Windows 11 Moment 4 installed. As a result, Microsoft is launching the update gradually, starting with new hardware like Surface products and gradually offering it to the rest.

In theory, you will automatically receive a notification from Windows Update when version 23H2 is available, provided the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” toggle is enabled in Windows Update settings.

If Windows 11 23H2 does not appear for download via Windows Update, there are alternative methods to install it manually. You can use the Installation Assistant or download the Windows 11 ISO files.

However, some users have reported not seeing “Windows 11 2023 Update” when checking for updates. If you don’t see the update, the best way to get it is through the Installation Assistant. Follow these steps:
1. Get the Installation Assistant from the Microsoft download page.
2. Run the Assistant and follow the on-screen instructions, including agreeing to the terms and conditions.
3. Once the Installation Assistant is ready, click ‘Start’ and reboot when prompted.
4. Your PC will likely restart several times during this process. Once done, your device will be running Windows 11 23H2.

Once you have successfully installed Windows 11 2023 Update, there are several exciting features to look forward to. In addition to features like Copilot and Windows Spotlight, the update brings new additions to the Settings app. The new home page in Settings includes interactive cards that highlight OS features such as connected accounts, OneDrive storage, and Microsoft 365. Another new feature is “Dynamic Lighting,” which allows you to control the lighting of devices using the HID LampArray standard. With dedicated Dynamic Lighting settings, you can create new color combinations based on red, green, and blue (RGB).
