Microsoft released the most recent Windows 11 Insider builds for testers on the Canary and Dev Channels yesterday and is now following up with Windows 11 Build 22635.2915 for the Beta Channel. For those using the “Get the latest updates as they are available” toggle in Windows Update, this new build introduces various improvements for the Voice Access accessibility feature.
Voice Access is set to replace the Windows Speech Recognition feature from the Windows Vista era, which will be removed from the OS in a future update. Voice Access uses on-device speech recognition and is receiving support for new languages (French, German, and Spanish) and multi-display support in this build.
Insiders can now use all voice access features on multiple displays, including number and grid overlays, which were previously unavailable on any display other than the primary one. Voice shortcuts, custom voice commands with one or multiple actions, can also be tested by Insiders, but this feature is currently only available when using Voice Access in English.
In addition to the Voice Access improvements, this new build also brings the same improvements to Windows 365 Boot and Windows 365 Switch that were previously introduced in the Dev build 23601 last week. The new Dedicated mode for Windows 365 Boot allows users to log in to their Cloud PC from the Windows 11 login screen using Windows Hello for Business. Furthermore, Windows 365 Switch now allows users to disconnect their Cloud PC right from their local PC with a new Disconnect experience in Task View.
Microsoft is also rolling out a Notepad update to Insiders on the Beta Channel, which adds a “New Edit with Notepad” option in the context menu in File Explorer, as well as a character count display in the status bar for selected text.
