Microsoft’s December Patch Tuesday updates are now available for download on Windows 11 and Windows 10. KB5033375 is aimed at enhancing Microsoft’s Copilot in Windows, providing the ability to access the AI assistant across multiple displays. Post-installation, the Copilot window will open on the display where the taskbar shortcut has been clicked and will also appear alongside other app thumbnails when users press Alt + Tab. However, these updates will initially be rolled out to a small subset of users.

Additionally, Windows 11 users can now expect Microsoft account-related notifications in the Start Menu and the Settings app. These notifications, which some users may find disruptive, can be managed through Settings > Privacy & security > General. For Windows 10 users, the KB5033372 patch brings the public rollout of Copilot on non-managed devices, with the AI assistant appearing as a shortcut on the right side of the taskbar.

Several other changes are set to make their way to Windows 10, including an increased size for the news & interests feature accessible from the taskbar, simplified configuration for default apps in Settings, and the ability to enable Windows Update notifications upon sign-in. Despite no “Windows 10 version 23H2” this year, the OS continues to receive new features in 2023, with an Extended Security Updates program announced for organizations and consumers looking to continue using Windows 10 beyond its end-of-support date in October 2025.
